Want to try the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) but not sure where to start—or how to track what you’ve tried and what you tolerate? This app is designed to help you organize your SCD journey and keep a clear record over time.
What is the SCD Diet?
The Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) is a dietary approach that limits complex carbohydrates (disaccharides and polysaccharides) and focuses on foods that are easier to digest for some people. Individual tolerance varies.
How this app can help
Food Lookup (protocol-aware): Check foods by protocol (BVC classic or NiMBAL) with clear “Allowed / Not allowed / Conditional” labels and notes.
Step-by-step guidance: Follow stages/steps and understand what to introduce first, then progress gradually.
Track your trials: Record when you started trying a food, then confirm outcomes (adapted / not yet / not tolerated). If not tolerated, you can log symptoms and review them later.
Your personal libraries: Maintain your Safe Foods list and a Blacklist you can manually remove items from.
Custom foods: Add foods not in the built-in list (name + optional photo).
iCloud sync (optional): Sync your diet records across devices, with a setting to turn sync on/off.
Widgets: Add two Home Screen widgets—Trying Foods and Safe Foods—and swipe to choose the widget type.
