Sotto blocks ads, trackers, cookie banners, and annoyances in Safari. One purchase, no subscriptions, no accounts. Your browsing stays yours.
WHAT IT BLOCKS
- Ads: banners, popups, video ads, mobile ad formats
- Trackers: analytics scripts, fingerprinting, cross-site tracking
- Cookie notices: GDPR banners, cookie consent walls
- Annoyances: newsletter popups, social widgets, anti-adblock overlays
- Crypto miners: in-browser mining scripts
197,000+ blocking rules across six open-source filter lists, updated in the background.
HOW IT WORKS
Sotto uses Safari's Content Blocker API, the same system Apple built for this exact purpose. Rules compile into Safari bytecode at install time. No JavaScript injection, no request interception, no runtime overhead.
The app cannot see your browsing data. Not "chooses not to", structurally cannot. Safari runs the rules, Sotto just provides them.
Three Safari extensions, each under the 150K rule limit:
- Sotto — Ads (EasyList + AdGuard Mobile)
- Sotto — Privacy (EasyPrivacy + NoCoin)
- Sotto — Annoyances (Fanboy Annoyances + EasyList Cookie)
Toggle categories on or off. Whitelist sites you want to support. Done.
WHY NOT FREE
Most free ad blockers make money from your data or from "acceptable ads" programs. Sotto costs $1.99 once because that's simpler and more honest. No trials, no tiers, no "premium upgrades" later.
